The whole process of making art has meditative qualities. I like wrapping my mind around a concept, doing the problem
solving, creating it with my own two hands. I enjoy the solitude, the focus, the opportunity for self expression. It
is really the best therapy and gives me tremendous peace of mind. It is almost like being a kid again when all that mattered
was what you were doing at that moment.
I am for the most part self taught. I don't have an artistic pedigree or formal academic training. I do have
some training in architecture and I would say that it has the strongest influence on my work and provides a constant source
of inspiration. My work is a blend of conceptual thought, childhood experience, concern for the environment, passion
for architecture, and an innate drive to create.I've been a laborer, carpenter, designer, and draftsman and I had my own business
for a long time doing custom residential stonework. No matter what I was doing or am doing I always make art and
I suppose I always will.
