about Dan
Born in 1964, Dan grew up
in the Catskill Mountains of Woodstock, New York. After getting his associates degree at Ulster County Community College
he went on to study architecture at New York Institute of Technology and Boston Architectural Center. He learned the construction
trades along the way while working in New York and Rhode Island for high end custom home builders doing carpentry and
then drafting and design. He opened his own business in 1995, Artisan Stoneworks, after working for several years in the stone
fabrication industry. In his eleven years in business he completed projects from Manhattan to Boston and he eventually started
making sculpture, furniture, and objects as a way to further his stone working skills and to fold in his design sensibilities.
Today, Dan's focus is mainly on making one of a kind pieces of art from stone, metal, wood and found objects in his studio
in Portsmouth, RI. He is always available for commisions.
