drawings

These "drawings" are all done on 1/2" x 24" x 24" drywall panels. The marks are made by cutting, scraping, sanding or peeling with a minimum of marks made with charcoal or graphite. The idea is that the panel, the material itself, is what is being expressed. The colors are the materials components: gray is the drywall paper surface, brown is the backing paper, white is the actual gypsum beneath the paper layers, and the black is usually charcoal applied for emphasis or to add another layer.
